ThinkStation for GIS

Lenovo has announced two performance workstation models in the ThinkStation range, the D10 and the S10. Designed for use in digital content creation, these units are targeted at users involved in Geographical Information Systems (GIS), cartography or similar work in creative industries where operators manipulate high-definition imagery, sound and video.

The units are also built with 50 percent recycled plastics, and satisfy Energy Star 4.0 rating requirements, with power supplies that apparently function with 80 percent efficiency. They are also designed with a dual channel thermal system that Lenovo claims has a nominal auditory level that is comparable to its regular desktop line, despite this system’s extra beef.
